What is the role of a Business Analyst ?

A business analyst (BA) bridges the gap between business (operations) and IT. The BA examines business processes, identifies bottlenecks, and maps stakeholder needs. They then translate these needs into clear and achievable requirements for new or improved systems, processes, or products. The BA collaborates closely with both internal teams (such as IT and management) and external parties. They also support the development of business cases and help prioritize projects. Through analysis and communication, the BA ensures that solutions align with the organization’s strategic objectives. A good BA combines analytical thinking with communication skills. The goal is always to add value and successfully manage change.
